At San Diego County Community, chronic absenteeism has fallen 13% over the 5-year window — from 18.0% in 2017 to 15.6% in 2020. Despite that, the gap vs US average of ~28% has actually widened — from 10.0% below in 2017 to 12.4% below in 2020.
